Main Character: Jean Louise "Scout" Finch-a little girl who is narrating the story.
She and her friends are intrigued by the local rumors about a man named Boo Radley,


• I can identify with the main character when: Wanted jusctice for Tom Robinson,a black man who was accused of raping a white girl.

• Supporting Characters:
Atticus Finch- a lawyer with high moral standards. Scout and jem’s father.
Jem- Scout’s brother. Who has an uneven arm because of an incident he had.
Dill - from Mississippi but spends his summer in Maycomb at a house near the Finch's.


III Setting


The story took place in Alabama during the Depression.


• Comments: Alabama is where black and white people lived. It was the time where white folks oppressed black people because of their color. A lot of stories and movies about that are being showed today, so the setting has a connection with the story because of its history.


IV Plot: The Action/Summary of What Happened in the Story



• Jem and jean are brothers and sisters. Practically best friends. They met Dill and their adventures started.
• First was the Radley rumors. Dill was intrigued by the story about Boo radley that jem and jean told him. Dill dared jem to go to the Radley’s house. Jem never backed out from a dare before and so eventually, he accepted. The children were curious to know more about Boo, and during one summer, they created a mini-dram, which tells the events of boo’s life as they know. Slowly, the children begin moving closer to the Radley house, which is said to be haunted. They try leaving notes for Boo on his windowsill with a fishing pole, but are caught by Atticus. The children try sneaking over to the house at night and looking through its windows. Boo's brother, Nathan Radley, who lives in the house, thought he heared a sound and he fires his gun. The children run away, and Jem loses his pants in a fence. When he returns in the middle of the night to get them back, they have been neatly folded and the tear of his pants were already sewn up.

• The next winter brings unexpected cold and snow, and Miss Maudie's house catches on fire. While Jem and Scout, shivering, watch the blaze from near the Radley house, someone puts a blanket around Scout without her realizing it. Not until she returns home and Atticus asks her where the blanket came from does she realize that Boo Radley must have put it around her while she was entranced by watching Miss Maudie, her favorite neighbor, and her burning house.

• Atticus, jem and scout’s father decided to accept a case about a black man (Tom Robinson) raping a white women(Mayella Ewell). And because of that, Jem and scout was teased and bullied. Dill an away from his home, where his mother and new father don't seem interested in him, and stays in Maycomb for the summer of Tom's trial. The night before the trial, Tom is moved into the county jail, and Atticus, fearing a possible lynching, stands guard outside the jail door all night. Jem is concerned about him, and the three children sneak into town to find him. A group of men arrive ready to cause some violence to Tom, and threaten Atticus in the process. At first Jem, Scout and Dill stand aside, but when she senses true danger, Scout runs out and begins to speak to one of the men, the father of one of her classmates in school. Her innocence brings the crowd out of their mob mentality, and they leave.
• Atticus knew that Tom was innocent but because he was black, the judge said he was guilty. Tom later died because he tried to escape out of jail and was shot.

• Bob Ewell, Mayella ewwel’s father followed jem and scout that were just going home after their Halloween play. With a kitchen knife, Bob tried to kill them. Jem broke Bob’s arm and Scout was just helpless because she was wearing a ham shaped wire costume and she couldnt see what was going on. Boo Radley rescues them by Stabbing the knife to Bob. The sheriff declared that it was Bob’s own doing so that Boo wouldn’t go to jail.



V Theme


• their was a moral in the story because it also talked about good and evil. People having good hearts vs. the people having bad ones. At first, the bad people may seem to win everytime. Nut in the end, good will always prevail.


• I learned from this story that we should be fair, we should do things that are right, and always be honest.


• State a problem in the story and how it was solved:
Jem, scout and dill never knew Boo radley. They thought he was scary at first. But then in the end, he was really a good person.

VI Evaluation of the Book


• Ii liked it because reading it was new for me. The story is different from other books and it taught me a lot of things. Things that I should do.
